Charleston Fashion Week 2013 – Emerging designers Katherine Barron and Jazsalyn McNeil

Katherine Barron was the winner of Tuesday evening’s Emerging Designer competition with her beautiful white line – an inspiration of magnolia blossom flowers. The simple cut of all her garments were brought to life with an aesthetic  hand painting and beading, turning her collection into a white canvas. The achromatic palette of trousers, dresses and blazers  were innovative fashion garments inspired by biomimicry of the magnolia petal shape. Katherine Barron’s line brought to life the emotion, the talent, and the beauty of  nature – inspired fashion.

The emerging designer Jazsalyn McNeil featured both men’s and women’s designs that narrated intricate stories of each of her fashion garment. The models wore the spring’s hottest trend eye-make up bright neon eye shadow and red lipstick with coral hues. They looked like angelic creatures from a fantastic world, powerful symbols of the designer’s creativity. Jazsalyn McNeil’s “Kingdom Come” collection was an aesthetic dreamland with a dramatic range of  prints quirky and ethereal out of this world.
